Knowledge Management & ICT

Head of Team: Michael Vineburg

The CSO ICT Team provides support and direction for Information and Communications Technologies and Knowledge Management  for the Catholic Schools Office and to diocesan schools.

In keeping with the Bishop’s mandate we are tasked with ensuring that education in the Catholic School is both for the good of the individual and the common good leading to authentic transformation of persons and society as a whole.  Therefore our focus must ensure that we create safe and supportive environments for all those that work in our Diocese.

During the 2012 school year the ICT team focused their energy around the following strategic intents from the Diocesan Strategic Plan ;

Strategic Intent 4.2  |  Responding strategically to the demands of contemporary information management and ICT for learning and management.

Throughout 2012 there has been much achieved in the area of ICT and Knowledge Management aimed at supporting these strategic intents, This has included;

Planning for reliable internet connections to all schools by ensuring each site has a fibre connection (to be implemented for the final 7 primary school sites in 2013)

Supporting the planning and implementation of networks in schools as part of BER and DER initiatives.

Reviewing and beginning work on development of Staff/ Student  Responsible Use policies (to be completed in 2013).

Assisting schools with the use of mobile devices in school networks for learning and teaching.
