The Bishop’s Mandate calls us to build caring and supportive environments that promote wellbeing and learning.
The focus in the priority area of Employee Services is to support and promote staff wellbeing by developing and embedding a culture of staff self-renewal for school improvement, sharing resources equitably and efficiently and enhancing a collaborative approach to industrial relations that support system priorities.
Staff Wellbeing Training |
All staff in the Diocese were provided with the opportunity to attend staff training on site with the theme of “Positive Interactions, looking after our children, looking after our employees”. The on site training provided information on the Employee Assistance Program that is available to all staff, the Code of Professional Conduct and an update on the Keep them Safe process and reporting guidelines.
Employee Assistance Program |
The Employee Assistance Program was expanded in 2012 to include the introduction of a second stream of professional support aimed at building the capacity and skills of employees. Professional support was offered in small groups/and or one on one coaching and mentoring aimed at addressing interpersonal issues that may be affecting the employee in the workplace.
Payroll & Human Resource Information System (PHRIS) |
The PHRIS project was the major focus for the Employee Services Team in 2012. The Catholic Schools Office, Wagga Wagga, has collaborated on the design, build and implementation of this System with the Archdiocese of Sydney, and Dioceses of Wollongong and Broken Bay. The PHRIS system, that is designed and built according to the requirements of Catholic Schools Offices will ensure that there is consistency across the Diocese in payroll and human resource processing.
